Our Pricing

All the Benefits of a Large Agency but at a Lower Cost

Please note that all projects and services have unique aspects and therefore are always quoted on an individual basis. The prices listed here are a guide only.

To find an overview of how we price Website Design Projects, Maintenance Care Plans, and our Marketing Services, please check out the sections below.

Design

For a general overview, check out our Website Design & Development Service page.

You probably would be surprised at how much goes into determining Pricing for a website project. If you check out our Process you will see that before a quote can be given we will need to schedule a consultation with you to discuss strategy and determine the scope of the project along with your goals. We would also need to  get you to fill out our Brand & Website Questionnaire. Afterwards we assess all the information provided and write a Proposal for the project. A lot of factors that affect pricing can intertwine with each other.

Below is an average price outline based on a basic to more advanced Projects. These costs are only a guideline and if you request a consultation, the quote that comes with our Proposals may fall above or below these prices.

Factors that Affect Pricing FAQ

A page is any URL you can visit on a website. This includes pages like Home, About, Search, Contact, Services/Portfolio/Programs, etc… and would include any related sub pages (for example if you had a separate page for each of your services).  If a page is longer than others and contains a lot of sections this may increase the price as well.

This refers to how many unique page layouts (also called frameworks or designs) there are. For example you can have a page for each service you offer where the content like text and images are different but how it is all laid out on the page remains the same

For every Page Layout in your Project you are quoted a certain number of revisions. The more revisions there are the more time it takes which increases the cost.

Usually we have 4 rounds of revisions with each happening in different parts of our Process. This is all outlined in the Proposal. This includes:

Revision 1 – Proposal & Sitemap

Considered a minor revision and happens after the sitemap has been created during the Discover Phase. A sitemap is like a flowchart that maps out all the pages the site will have and how they are connected. Each page will have a description of what content and functionality is expected.

Revision 2 – Style Guide & Website Mockup

This is a major revision and deals with your online brand identity and mockup page layouts.

A Website Mockup is a basic skeleton layout of each page and template. Filler text, blank images and grey colours are used as to not distract from the purpose of the wireframe mockup, which is to plan the layout of the pages.

Revision 3 – Design & Development

This is a major revision and happens after all the supplied text and image content, colours and styling is added to the Website Mockup to create a cohesive design style for the website. All functionality has been added at this point as well.

Revision 4 – Final

This is the final minor revision which happens after testing but before launch of the website. Task lists for this revision includes bug fixes to any functionality, and minor changes to regular web pages including updating links, changing out a single image, and making small changes to sentences or paragraphs.

Without knowing the complete project goals and scope it is very hard to estimate a price. Unique more simple functions of a website could include a Contact Form or Newsletter Signup Form for a 3rd party service. More complex functionality would include an online ecommerce store or a directory that has an advanced search page with multiple faucets that also allows visitors to add their own items.

Some websites have a simple objective: get the visitor to contact the business to enquire further about a product or service. Other sites may have a more complex sales funnel that involves different types of audiences and marketing solutions. The more complex Strategies require greater expertise and time to design and develop.

Maintain

For a general overview, check out our Maintenance & Management Service page.

The continued success of your website and the investment you have put into it depends on the care and maintenance it receives. Unexpected downtime due to software issues or hacks could lead to loss revenue and customer trust.

If you do not want the hassles of learning to do it yourself and want to instead put that energy back into your business, then take a look at the 3 Maintenance Care Plans we offer.

These plans are just a guide and will be modified to suit the needs of each client, their business, and the individual website. In most cases we will charge a setup a fee to update any outdated software your website uses before hand, to prepare your website for our workflow, and to migrate your website to our hosting provider.

None of our care plans require a long-term contract. Any plan can be canceled with a 30-day notice.

Care Plan FAQ

We manage your website on our preferred 3rd party web hosting service which uses the cloud to make sure your visitors will experience the best possible speed when visiting your website. All hosting includes using CDNs, server side caching, and a SSL certificate. These servers are located in Canada and the United States.

You will never need to communicate with the web host.

Priority Support is meant for discussing tasks and to report any problems you are experiencing with your website.

eSilverStrike Consulting is available during our normal business hours (not including holidays). Any support request received will be answered within the response time of the plan. Response time is in business days but in most cases we usually do respond by the next business day.

If a website goes down we will make every effort to assist as soon as possible. However, the Maintenance Care Plans does not guarantee 24/7 emergency support.

Non-emergency tasks will go into our regular workflow, and will have an average 1 to 3 day turnaround time. For extra work that exceeds the allotted number of tasks of your Maintenance Care Plan, you will be billed at our current hourly rate.

If you wish to discuss changes to your maintenance care plan, or improvements to your website including enhancements, marketing, or a new project, feel free to reach out via support (or contact us directly) and we can then schedule a call to go over the details.

Each care plan has a set number of 30 minute task blocks per month and will be completed usually within 1 to 3 business days of the request. Any task at a minimum requires 30 minutes. A task that takes longer than 30 minutes will use up additional full task blocks. If you require extra time for the month above what has been specified in your plan, we will try our best to accommodate the situation but the extra time will be billed our current hourly rate and completion time may be delayed due to other project commitments.

Task blocks built into a care plan include a large discount over our regular hourly rate. If you need more or less set number of task blocks per month, let us know and we can tailor the plan to your needs.

Example tasks include (but not limited to):

  • Comment moderation
  • Content changes
  • Adding new content
  • Minor website adjustments

Any left over task blocks in a month cannot be rolled into the next month.

Tasks do not include programming or design services since these take time and are outside the scope of a maintenance task. If this is something you want done, please contact us and we can discuss it further.

We keep track of all software updates for your website. WordPress and the themes and plugins it uses needs to be updated regularly. These updates can include new features, bug fixes, and security fixes. Plugin and theme updates also ensure that compatibility is maintained with newer versions of WordPress. Updates should only be applied after research is done to ensure compatibility between the plugins installed on the website is confirmed.

Every month receive a report about your website. This includes (among other things) information on what software was updated, when the backups was completed, your websites Uptime percentage, and a summary for the number of visitors your website received.

Our security software includes a Web Application Firewall (WAF) which continuously monitors visitors for bad behavior and offers Brute-Force Protection against common attacks on websites. Scanning your files and content for Malware is also included.

We review notifications from the security software and make adjustments as needed. We are proactive as well and keep updated on security news regarding the software your website uses.

Protect your user accounts by requiring strong passwords and limiting failed login attempts. 2 Factor authentication can also be setup for Administrator accounts.

Google Search Console is a service which allows webmasters to check indexing status and optimize visibility of their websites. We will monitor your Search Console for notifications from Google about technical issues that need to be fixed.

Google Analytics is a service that tracks and reports website traffic. We will monitor Analytics and report any traffic swings (increases or decreases) that are outside the average for the time period which may indicate an issue or something positive (which should be checked to see if it can be further capitalized on).

To keep things running smoothly we set up recurring payments to be automatically billed to your credit or debit card at the start of each month for that current month.

There are no long-term contracts. You may cancel your Maintenance Care Plan with a 30-day notice.

Since our managed hosting solution is part of our care plan if canceled, you will be cancelling your hosting as well along with your remotely stored backups. We will provide you with the latest backup to your website so you can migrate it to another host. If you wish you can also hire us to migrate your website to another host at our current hourly rate. Please note that a lot of web hosts  may offer cheap rates but with reduced server resources which may affect how well your website operates.

Yes, but it depends on your web host. Some web hosts may appear to offer a lot at a cheap price but limit resources in other ways which make it difficult for WordPress websites to function properly. (this happens a lot)

If you want to keep your own web host, then let us know when you contact us and we will check your host out to see if it meets our qualifications. If it does, you could then subscribe to one of our Maintenance Care plans, minus the built in hosting fees.

No one can guarantee that a website will not be hacked. There is also no guarantee that everything will run smoothly 100% of the time. For example a WordPress update could introduce bugs that negatively affect your site, or an update at the server level by the hosting provider (software or hardware) could cause some downtime.

What we can do is pick quality hosting, software, and technical expertise that will greatly reduce the chance of something bad happening. Performing regular maintenance as well as solid security practices will greatly minimizes your risk. Our Maintenance Care Plans may not seem to be the cheapest option on the market but in the long term you will save money, time, and a lot of aggravation.

If your website goes down due to actions we have taken, we will find the cause, and if possible fix what is needed. If a fix is not possible in a reasonable amount of time we will restore a backup to return your website to it’s previous operating state. We would then inform you of what has happened and what the next steps should be.

If your website goes down due to actions on your part or by a third party you have hired, we can restore a backup to return your website to it’s previous operating state. If you want us to investigate and fix the issue, then you will be billed at our current hourly rate.

If you received an email about your website files being compromised, make sure it is legit by forwarding the email to our support team. If we are not managing your web hosting then you will need to contact them as well. In a lot of cases spammers will send these emails to websites that are perfectly fine as they are fishing for more information about your website or wishing to sell you services under false pretense.
